Freedom in the mind; Patriotism in the blood. Pride in the souls and with zeal in the hearts, the 71st Republic day was celebrated at CARE International School. The event started with the prayer song followed by a cultural programme by LKG students. They performed on a multilingual song which peeked into the different states of India, language spoken, costume etc. It gives us an insight into the diversity of India. The event was followed by Principal’s address who spoke on the fundamental duties of a citizens. Then our UKG students occupied the stage, they performed an action song on different states and their culture. Then Ms. Evangeline, our English teacher had an interactive session with the students on the fundamental duties of a citizen, students, son/daughter, as a teacher etc.
Students of the primary block performed a street play on the evils of single use plastic, and the celebration proceeded with ramp walk, dance, skit and speech to invoke the feeling of patriotism among all those present there. They sang songs in different languages such as Hindi, Tamil and Kashmiri. The celebration also included a dance competition between the four houses. The theme for the dance competition were folk dances from Tamil Nadu, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Tamil Nadu. The dance competition was adjudged by Mr. Joseph Patrick , Dance Master from Kalalaya Dance Academy and the results were declared at the end of the competition. Sun house, Sky house and fire house won the first, second and third place respectively.
The Republic Day celebration came to an end with the vote of thanks and the rendition of the National Anthem.
