KWHS INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPETITION

CARE International School has always gone beyond textbooks to help students understand the way of life. In order to expose the commerce students to the share market and its ups and downs, to help children understand the bullish and bearish tendencies prevalent the market, the students in our school have been encouraged to participate in a virtual trading competition the details of which are as follows:

ORGANIZERS:

The investment management competition is conducted by WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, PENNSYLVANIA.

Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS) — is an online resource with the mission to provide high school students and educators around the world with a deeper understanding of business and personal finance and to equip them with the skills to excel in the global marketplace.

Why We chose to appear for this Competition?

The Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS) Investment Competition is a free, global, online investment simulation for high school students (9th to 12th grade) and teachers. One can develop various skills likes: teamwork, communication, risk, diversification, company analysis, industry analysis and investing.

Teams consist of four to seven students, and classes can have several competing teams; student-led investment clubs and home-schooled teams are also encouraged to participate. Each team manages a portfolio of $100,000 in virtual cash over the course of 10 weeks using Wharton’s Online Trading and Investment Simulator (OTIS).

The beginning:

The competition commenced on her first trading day i.e. on 5th October 2018.

Since then we are trading on stocks. All the teams are expected to continue the same till the month of December. A mid-project review is to be submitted by all the teams on November 5.

Over the course of the competition, the teams will develop and test an investment strategy using the sectors, industries and companies from the competitions approved stock list. The teams will conduct a thorough analysis of potential investments, which will provide support for your portfolio analysis.

KWHS has a mission to create free resources that help high school students and educators gain a deeper understanding of business and finance. Success in our eyes is when students have fun, as well as learn the meaning and application of investment concepts.
