An interaction with a Stanford University Graduate

Under the CARE Inspire programme, students of class VII and VIII got an opportunity to interact with Ms. Melanie Lang from Hong Kong, a student from Stanford University, USA.  She shared about her life experiences with students and also gave an insight into the culture and society of Hong Kong through videos, photographs and stories.

This session helped our kids to decode what life looks like for a teenagers in a different culture and how they are schooled and what do they do beyond studies.

The guest stimulated the students to think, through questions like why we must study? Do we study to get marks, make career or to gain knowledge? Students were encouraged to think and learn newer things through doing.

She also played guitar and sang a mandarin song with them. The session was closed in a friendly manner when the students learnt some common expressions in Chinese language. The students enjoyed the interaction.
