Field trip to Fire Station

Our pre-primary children visited the cantonment fire station to learn more about the job of a  fireman. Field trips are a great way of connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences. This trip to the fire station was to raise awareness of the value of neighbourhood helpers in everyday life. It was fascinating to watch kids engage with the firefighters and discover how they work as a team to overcome challenging situations. The various extinguishers, cutting devices, and other tools that the firefighters use were explained to the children, and they were also given a demonstration of them. They also witnessed the fire engine, the ladder used to access higher places, and the process of using a hose pipe to spray water on a fire. They were also aware of the value of firefighters and how challenging it would be if they weren’t available to assist us in times of need. It was a tremendous amount of learning for the children.
